The Golden Knights will play the Florida Panthers, who swept the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final. Game 1 will be in Vegas on Saturday.

A healthy scratch to start the series, Ty Dellandrea scored two pivotal, third-period goals in the Dallas Stars' 4-2 victory on Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of the Western Conference final.

The win kept the Stars' season alive for at least two more days. Game 6 is Monday night in Dallas.

Germany scored a late equalizer and then upset the United States in overtime Saturday to set up a final against Canada at the ice hockey world championship.

Frederik Tiffels scored with 2 minutes, 28 seconds left in overtime to give Germany a 4-3 win over the Americans in the semifinals. Earlier, teenage forward Adam Fantilli scored the go-ahead goal as Canada edged Latvia 4-2 in the other semi.

Joe Pavelski admits that he probably appreciates the big playoff goals more the later he gets in his career. But they all still feel just as good, and his latest kept the season alive for the Dallas Stars.

“Just really living in the moment," Pavelski said. “A tremendous feeling for sure, and glad we could play another game, and go from there and try to extend it.”

The 38-year-old Pavelski scored on a power play at 3:18 of overtime — a one-timer from the middle of the left circle to the far post — and the Stars avoided a sweep in the Western Conference Final with a 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night.

The United States beat the Czech Republic 3-0 to advance to the semifinals of the ice hockey world championship on Thursday.

The Americans have been cruising through the tournament and earned their eighth straight victory.

Matthew Tkachuk's third game-winning goal of this postseason came with just 4.9 seconds left and delivered the eighth-seeded Florida Panthers to their first Stanley Cup Final in 27 years.

With their 4-3 victory Wednesday night, the Panthers completed a four-game sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference finals -- Florida's first playoff series sweep in franchise history. The Panthers, who scraped into the postseason as a wild card, will now make their second Cup Final appearance, and first since 1996. They await the winner of the Vegas Golden Knights-Dallas Stars series.

The Vegas Golden Knights kept their composure and got the best payback after an ugly hit early against their captain.

They have a 3-0 series lead in the Western Conference Final and are now just one more win away from making it to another Stanley Cup Final.

Chandler Stephenson jumped on a rebound 1:12 into overtime and hit the back of the net to complete a rally and give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday and a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Final.

Jonathan Marchessault forced overtime with a shot from the slot with just 2:22 left in the third period.
